You wanted to browse deals by categories and now you can. Want to try something new tonight? Pick Restaurants or Food and Drink for inspiration and a great deal. Want something to do afterwards? Pick Arts and Entertainment. Maybe your looking to buy a gadget so pick Electronics and Accessories.
Deal Drop had some technical problems today. Due to those technical problems you may not have a full list of deals. To get your deals back follow these steps:
Another Woot Off is over and we can relax into the regular pace of deals. But while it's still fresh in our minds I'd love to hear how Deal Drop could help you more with the next Woot Off.
Did the notifications come fast enough? Did they drive you crazy? Did you miss the whole thing because you couldn't figure out how to turn notifications on?
Did the deals load fast for you? Where you able to buy something before it sold out?
Maybe you used something else during the Woot Off?
By popular demand you can now change notifications and hide deals from the deal list. Hold down on a deal to select it then choose the notification or hide/show options to change your preferences for that site. If you have Android 4.x or greater you can also select multiple deals at a time.
There's a clock notification icon in the bottom right of each deal to show you if notifications are on for that deal. Deals you hide will move to the hidden tab.
Everybody has heard of Groupon and Living Social is not far behind. It is of course no accident that they are so well known due to the huge amounts of publicity both good and bad. Groupon is certainly responsible for making Daily Deals mainstream. However Groupon did not start Daily Deals but just gave it a local twist. Before Groupon came many other Daily Deal sites which are still going strong today. In fact the Daily Deal sites that came before Groupon are so successful that Groupon and Living Social have taken notice and are learning from them.
1 Sale A Day is back after being missing from Deal Drop briefly. Now the main 5 deals are shown. However unfortunately you will need re-choose if you want to get notifications or hide 1 Sale A Day deals.
If your a long time Deal Drop user you may remember that 1 Sale A Day didn't used to have a good reputation for customer service. But I'm pleased to say that is not a problem any longer. You should have no problems. If you do have problems I'm here to help so send me an email.
Just a quick note to say you can now see Pamela's Side Deals listed along with all the other great Deal Drop Daily Deals. Scroll way down the bottom and there you can see them. It might be an exclusive magazine deal, a coupon for an extra discount or just some other great deal.
Check them out and let us know in the comments what you think.
First, I want to wish everyone who’s traveling a safe journey. Take your time getting to your destinations. Remember that no matter what happens during this Thanksgiving break (long wait lines at the airport, a nerve wrecking relative, bad tasting food, etc.), we’re all still very blessed to be alive and well!
And now to my news … great news!
Deal Drop has done it again … earned an honorable feature spot. If you recall, last year it was featured in The New York Times. This time it’s being featured in Wired Magazine App Guide.
