About Me
Hi there, I'm Darren Phillips.
Since 1998, I've been earning a living doing what I love most: building things. I have spent most of that time building web applications and more recently mobile apps while working at Stibo, Ingenta, MHN, Health Net, and Keeper Security.
I'm enjoying life with my family living and working in suburban Sacramento, California.
About Pamela
Hello, money savers!
My name is Pamela Jones and I’m the blogger here at Deal Drop; bringing you all those irresistible deals.
If you detect a creative style in my writing, it’s because creative writing is my greatest flair. In fact, creative writing is a passion that connects my words to
readers’ hearts.
I’ve been writing since graduating from Clark Atlanta University nearly 20 years ago. I’ve written romantic short stories for magazines and poetry. These days I work as a freelance copywriter. Besides writing here at Deal Drop, my writing can be found throughout the internet under the pseudonym “Penlady.”
My future writing plans include writing fiction eBooks, and of course, continuing to bring you all the latest great deals via Deal Drop.
A native of Atlanta, I now reside in California’s river city and capital, Sacramento.
About Deal Drop
Deal Drop debuted in June, 2009.
The road to building an app that brings deals to people began with my experience of managing to buy a few "Bags of Crap" from Woot.com via Wootalyzer.
Wootalyzer is a Windows app that updates you on all the latest deals from Woot.com along with other daily deals. It works as fast as lightening in alerting you about deals especially with its bag of crap alarm that is so loud that it can wake the dead!
Need I say that my colleagues were a bit displeased about this annoying alarm going off for an hour while I was away at lunch?
When Apple launched the iPhone, Wootalyzer promised to a build an app version for iPhone users. It was never built.
So I decided to build an app that could serve iPhone users in a way the Wootalyzer was never able to do: provide them with deals via their iPhones without logging onto the computer.
So, I began building Deal Drop App. After spending many late nights constructing this daily deals app, Apple approved it and placed it into their app store.
And here we are today with iPad, Android and many ways to make it easier to snag those Daily Deals.
Deal Drop has come a long way since those early days, and we still have a long way to go. I'm enjoying the journey and happy to have Deal Drop users join me, including adding input to make it better.
So stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
